During the 31st Training and Technical Conference “Power Cable and Overhead Lines” KABEL 2026, which will take place from 10–13 March 2026, the TELE-FONIKA Kable team will actively participate in the event, presenting the latest technological advancements and solutions supporting the development of modern power engineering.
Our experts will deliver presentations on medium voltage \(MV\), high voltage \(HV\) and extra high voltage \(EHV\) cables. The papers will focus on key topics such as material selection for cable design, the development of the high-voltage cable sector, operational safety, and balancing regulatory requirements with optimal and cost-effective design solutions.
@Iga Korczyńska, Head of the Medium Voltage Cables and JDR Technology Team, will present a paper entitled: “Lifetime of Power Cables – Between Standards and Real Operating Conditions.”
Her presentation will address modern testing methods and estimation models, which enable the prediction of the service life of insulated cables. She will also emphasise the importance of proper design that takes into account multi-factor degradation mechanisms.
@Marcin Kocik, Head of the High Voltage Systems Technology Team, will present the paper: “Design of HV Cables with a Smooth Welded Aluminium Sheath.”
He will discuss the “Combined Design” as an effective alternative to traditional lead sheaths and copper wire screens. This solution combines high water tightness, corrosion resistance and optimisation of electrical and mechanical parameters.
@Przemysław Krawczykowski, High Voltage Systems Technologist, will present the topic: “Short-Circuit Currents in various types of HV cable Designs.”
In his paper, he will discuss the need to consider the thermal and dynamic effects of short-circuit currents at the HV cable design stage. He will also present the methodology for determining permissible short-circuit currents for various cable structures as well as the parameters and standards that form the basis for calculations.
Kamil Balcer, Medium Voltage Technologist, will present a paper on mechanical stresses during MV cable installation.
His presentation will focus on the cable pulling process as one of the most critical stages of installation. The physical mechanisms involved, as well as appropriate methods and installation accessories that help reduce the risk of damage, particularly in challenging ground conditions, will be discussed.
